October, final
No picture again. A dog who shall remain nameless (and who no longer resides here, I’m almost sorry to say) chewed on my camera cord and until I replace it or find the one for my daughter’s camera I don’t have any decent pictures. Anyway...
This week’s shopping was somewhat unusual. I spent a good deal of time yesterday looking over B’s upcoming schoolwork and compiled a list of supplies he needed for Art and Science...something I really should’ve done a long time ago. At any rate, that added many things to the shopping list that I wouldn’t normally buy...but I did find them all at the grocery store, for which I am thankful. So here it is:
•miscellaneous school supplies, $16.00
•medicines for mom, $2.77*
•dog food, $12.45, one can free with B2G1 coupon
•Oreos, sale price $2.50 less $1.50 coupon, $1.00
•case of Coke Zero, $6.99
•family pack local flour tortillas, $3.49
•2 3l bottles water for mom, $1.98
•bagels and donuts from the bakery discount rack, $4.78
•large tray of decorated cookies for A’s carnival, $6.99
•gallon of milk, the last of my wic purchases for the month
•6 Yoplait Whips for mom, sale price $3.00 less 40c coupon, $2.60
•quart of Dannon plain yogurt, $2.29 less $1 coupon, $1.29
•2 flavored coffee creamers for mom, $3.98 less $1 coupon, $2.28
•cream cheese for the bagels, $1.69
•2 newspapers, $4.00
•bag credit, 30c
Total for the day before sales: $88.58
Total sale price: $84.29
Total paid: $68.71, 77.6%
October total retail: $1,310.29
October total sale price: $1,133.78
October total paid: $872.77, 66.6%
*I got 2 boxes of Ecotrin better than free. A while back there were coupons, $7/2 and $10/3 off any “Advantage Brands” products, including Ecotrin. 45ct Ecotrin low dose aspirin (which mom takes daily) is priced $2.99. The store computer took off the entire $7, giving me an extra $1.02 above the cost of the pills. I have a few more of these coupons so she’ll be stocked for quite a while.
The 2 Ecotrin and 1 can of Alpo gave me $7.73 in free value. October total free items: $58.67
It occurs to me that I don’t have anything resembling a standard format for these posts and they’re kind of all over the map. Perhaps I should work on that for November. :)
